Educational Training Center for Children with Special Needs

Established on June 1, 2014, this project was launched to support children with special needs who require additional assistance and cannot attend regular public schools. The program provides modern, evidence-based training aimed at preventing developmental delays and fostering integration with their peers, ensuring these children feel included and supported.

Special Education is a critical and rapidly evolving sector that has made a significant impact on the lives of children with special needs. It is our responsibility to ensure these children receive the specialized support they require. Families should no longer feel shame or anxiety about their children’s future due to a lack of skills or qualifications.

This center is the only facility in the Kurdistan Region offering comprehensive physical and educational training for children with special needs—entirely free of charge—through personalized programs. In addition, the center hosts regular meetings and seminars for parents, provides specialized training for education staff and works to raise community awareness on how to better support children with disabilities.

The program serves all children entitled to special rights who require both physical and educational support, with a particular emphasis on children with:

      • Intellectual Disability

      • Communication Disorders

      • ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder)

      • Specific Learning Disorder

      • ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)

      • Down Syndrome

Currently, Services Are Provided in Three Formats:

      1. Daily Visit Group:
Beneficiaries in this group visit the center regularly from Sunday to Thursday, between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. They receive both group and individual services in the training, physical therapy and art departments.

      2. Weekly and Monthly Visit Groups:
Children in this group attend the center on a weekly or monthly basis, depending on their individual needs and the customized program developed by the center’s expert staff. The number of these groups varies regularly based on the center’s schedule.

      3. Physiotherapy Visit Group:
This service is available to children in both the daily and weekly/monthly visit groups, as well as those who require physiotherapy only. Sessions are provided on a weekly or monthly basis.
