Psychological & Social Support for Working Children
This project is part of the child protection program affiliated with KSC and is operated at the Children’s Activity Center (Kaziwa) – Sara. The center provides a safe space for working children to rest and escape the harmful environments they are often exposed to due to poverty, cultural factors, and a lack of awareness about children’s rights and the dangers of child labor.
Psychological & Social Support for Working Children project consists of four programs: Little Fellow, Child Resilience, Youth Resilience, and Parental Skills. Through these programs, psychological and social support is provided to children based on their age. This service is delivered by trained facilitators who raise awareness about the impact of child labor, educate the community on children’s rights, and help create a healthier environment for the children through various activities, including recreational sessions such as drawing, music, and handicrafts. Additionally, the Non-formal Education program is implemented to further support these children.
Project Objectives:
1. Raise children and families’ awareness about the dangers of child labor.
2. Develop children’s psychological and social abilities.
3. Educate children about their basic rights.
4. Protect children from violence by conducting awareness sessions.
