Kurdistan Save the Children established and operates a private educational high school in Sulaimani- Shahid Jabbar, where 303 children are taught in English. Shahid Jabbar School accepts 50 children yearly to the 7th grade depending on their previous marks and their scores on their admission exams. Although our school offers the same international curriculum taught in regular schools, the curriculum is delivered in a unique methodology different from what is being applied in other Kurdish schools .With diverse classrooms and students coming from all socioeconomic backgrounds, our school gives the opportunity for any high academic achievers to reach greater educational heights regardless of their social or economic background.
47 out of a total of 50 12th grade students passed their final exams (equivalent to SAT exams held in Iraq) successfully in the year 2014-2015. 22 of the students were accepted into colleges of medicine, 17 students were accepted into engineering colleges and 8 were accepted into different colleges.
The number of students in the year 2015-2016 is a total of 303 students in grades 7-12.
