World Autism Awareness Day 2018

World Autism Awareness Day, observed on the 2nd of April, is an international day to raise awareness about autism throughout society and to encourage early diagnosis. Autism is a lifelong, developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with and relates to other people.

Kurdistan Save the Children in support of autistic children and their families manages The Rehabilitation Center for Children with Special Educational Needs and has designated a part of the center to Autism, where behavioral and speech therapists provide treatment daily.

On this day, KSC aims to shine light on autism as a growing health issue and to celebrate the unique talents and skills of children with autism through a number of activities and the distribution of leaflets and posters.
