Raising awareness in society as a whole and more specifically police officers is important to help protect children’s rights when coming in contact with the law in accordance with local and international laws.
* For this purpose, Kurdistan Save the Children within the Juvenile Justice Project and the assistance of UNICEF conducted a workshop for the police and Kirkuk’s juvenile police officers. The workshop was conducted on the 20th of June & 6th of July 2017 in which 32 police officers participated. The subjects discussed included maltreatment and abuse towards children and protecting children when they come in contact with the law.
* As well as a protecting children against child abuse and maltreatment project for the guards and officers at the Women and Children Reformatory in Sulaimani on the 12th and 13th of June with the participation of 40 guards.
